ELLIOT IS GONE...

Every week I do a segment on 19 Action News called "Action News Idol" during the Buzz on the 11 o'clock news. For WEEKS I have been talking about how boring Elliot is, and that I think he's the one that should be voted off. And now finally, I've got it right for once. And the ironic part is, after watching the show tonight, I grew so much more attached to him! Watching him in his home town, seeing his mom so proud and teary-eyed, and even seeing him shed a tear was so endearing. He is SUCH a great singer!!! To hear - great! To watch, though - not so much. But I actually was sad to see him go. He is extremely talented.

I have been a Taylor Hicks fan from DAY 1. But I never thought in a million years he would make it to the final two!!! I can't believe it! He is a great singer, so fun to watch, and seems to be extremely well-liked. Taylor Hicks is the kind of guy I'd like to know and hang with. Maybe sit around having some cold beers, playing guitar near the campfire singing along with some good friends... that is why, in my opinion, he has never been in the bottom 2 or 3. People just LIKE him. And he's mad talented too...

Katherine is gorgeous, and an amazing singer. And I'm sure if I actually had the chance to sit down and chat with her that she's a great gal. Seems to me though that she comes off with a bit too much of an attitude, and that may be the one tiny piece that doesn't let her win next week.

Both of the finalists are fantastic. I'll be happy to see either of them win, because I think they are certainly both deserving of it - but for the record, Taylor Hicks definitely gets my vote.

MY LITTLE BRO GRADUATED!

Coming off of a great Mother's Day weekend that I got to spend with my family... about 25 Toohey's came to Cleveland (from PA) to celebrate my brother's graduation from Kent State! I am so proud of him! We had a fantastic dinner at Mama Santos in Little Italy followed by lots of drinks with my bro to celebrate... Sunday had a great brunch with the whole fam then headed to Kent for a 2 hour graduation... this was a LOOOONG day, however, I have to say, I was overwhelmed with emotion when I actually saw my brother walk up there and get his diploma... when they called his name, it made sitting in that gym for nearly 2 hours well worth it.

I've posted a pic here of me, mom, dad and my two bros - Jonny and Joey. What a great crew. I hope you had a fantastic Mother's Day weekend with your family too... I feel so lucky to have such an amazing family. And congrats to Lorraine who won the Make Good Monday on the show today - for getting a crappy gift on Mom's day! The stories and gifts everyone shared were fantastic... thanks to everyone who called in. You really make my day so much more fun!

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND - HOB ROCKS!

First I have to say Allan Fee and Rebecca Wilde did such an amazing job with the first ever Q104 Pledge For Pets Radiothon!!! And so did Cleveland! What a great event...

Headed to the Edwin McCain show at the House of Blues on Saturday night - love shows like this! A good friend of mine, and Q104, Will Bowen opened the show... this guy is amazing! I've posted a pic here... Will is on the right... the other 2 guys are two of my bestest friends Jason and Jonathan. These boys are all so handsome...

I encourage you to check out his website and music at www.willbowen.com He is an AMAZING songwriter and an even better singer... expect big things from him, and go see him play sometime. You won't be disappointed. A few of my faves of his? Send Me To The Moon, Mr. Right, Photograph and The Little Things.

This week will be huge at Q104 - why, you ask? Because you have a chance to LIVE LIKE A ROCK STAR WITH INXS! Meet the boys, go to the show in a limo... too cool. I welcome your comments, thoughts, suggestions anytime: jen@q104.com or call me in studio between 3pm and 7pm at 216.578.0104.

Q104 LISTENERS COME UP WITH THE BEST IDEAS

I got the greatest phone call on the show on Tuesday... someone called in asking if I used to go out in the Flats back when the Basement was hoppin'... Fagans, Bar Cleveland, Have a Nice Day Cafe... got so many great calls of the old dance club hangs in the 90's! So in honor of those good times we played "Shoop" by Salt 'n Pepa (a personal fave). I think we should do this every day! Dig into the old "Basement" files and play that GREAT 90's dance music! It will be "WHATEVER FROM THE BASEMENT"!

If you have a great story of your dance clubbin' days in Cleveland, or a great 90's dance song request, LET ME KNOW! Would love to hear from you on the request line at 216.578.0104 or shoot me an email to jen@q104.com!
